Here is my ball of movement!! I like this form because of its shape and texture on it. It looks like a bunch of feathers curled up into a ball, the texture on the balls make it look like there's some kind of fast movement. Also the shadow gives that extra effect with it fading to the left.

DSDN 104 - Fading ?
...Here is an image on me trying to make the word 'Fade' come to life in the model. I have done this by putting light onto my work to create a nice fading shadow. Also here is another one of my iterations.

DSDN 104 - First lighting experiment
Here is my first lighting experiment and also a new form I've created!
I like this shadow the form gives mainly because it tells a different story compared to the model. I makes it seem a lot bigger than it is.

DSDN 104 - Some more development on iterations
Here is one of my developments in my iterations that I'd thought to explain a bit on.
This form here represents my words quite well. Like for example, 'movement' is showing well in this form with the lines in the form, it gives of a straight and fast movement feel to it. And backed up with the wings shape makes it more effective. It shows 'feather' well from the lines/shapes on the form. The 3rd photo represents this well with the textures and lines combinding well. Now my last word 'fade' will come into play when I introduce light to make it look like it fades away into the light/darkness.
DSDN 112 - Is this going to work?
This effect would be good for my drink because it is unusual and unique. This would look good with the red icing that comes from the top of the glass. I was wondering if there was a glass that had two layers so one layer of the glass could be dry ice and the other would be the liquid I create. Doing it this way would make the drink not infected with any harms from the dry ice itself. I'm going to do a little more research on dry ice and where to buy it from and different ways to use it but this is just an idea for now.

DSDN 112 - Experiment results #2
I have created two drinks out of sparkling duet! I have added green food coloring to one glass and black food coloring to the other. So the result there was that one drink was a disgusting black which looked like paint water and the other one looked more appealing with a slight green to it. I gave both of those drinks to my friend and then his reaction to both those drinks were, "YUM!" Then he commented that the green one tasted a lot better than the black one. Then I broke the news and said that they were the same drink just with different food coloring in it.
Also my new inspiration is a program called "Heston's Feast". This program is about this guy who creates food that is unique and very different from normal food. Like for example he created a skeleton that was made out of food and also made a drink that had ham, turkey and all sorts in it and it actually tasted good. This has inspired me more to create a drink that looks absolutely disgusting but when you taste it, the drink will be amazing.
To pull off this look I'm going to present my drink in that massive cup I bought (seen in earlier posts) then around the rim of the cup, I'm going to put red icing on it but make the icing really thick so it holds onto the cup better and doesn't drip down. I also want to have shot glasses around the main cup with the drink in it. This would be good because then who ever dares to try my drink can just grab a glass and give it a go and hopefully the reaction I get will be a surprised reaction along with a good tasting reaction. I'm trying to push for that YUM factor and also make the appearance very disgusting so it puts people off.
Dare to try?

DSDN 112 - Ideas for presentation
I've bought a massive cup for my center piece of my presentation and also some glass to surround it. With the big cup I'm thinking of putting thick red icing that drips from the top and then sprinkle white icing sugar on top of the icing or maybe not. My goal is to make the appearance of the drink to look disgusting along with the presentation as well but then when you actually try the drink you are amazed at how good it is!
DSDN 112 - New tests!
Here are some products I have bought! I know some of these ingredients maybe seem weird but this is just the trail an error stage in my project.

DSDN 112 - Tastebuds?
This week we had to bring items or just the one item that would give a unique reaction when you tried it or played with it etc. I bought a mystery drink that I distributed to the class. It looked like water but when you taste it it would taste completely different. I bought cranberry sparkling water which surprised a lot of people because a lot of people haven't tried that before which meant a lot of people really liked it or disliked it. Most people's reactions were to smell or use other sense to make out what the liquid was. And some people thought it was a good idea bring sparkling water but maybe I could have use food coloring or more flavor boosting, and by using those I could create a really disgusting looking color in the drink so people will be disgusted by it and it would be interesting if someone actually would try it or wait until they can figure out what it would be before taking a sip.
So my next step is to experiment with food coloring and flavor boosting to create a really disgusting color but then it tastes amazing when you try it.

DSDN 104 - Trying to get a feathery look.
Here is more development of me trying to intertwin feather, movement and fading. (which are my three words).
DSDN 104 - more iterations
Here are some more concepts/iterations. These forms I've tryed to incoporate that soft feathery feel and the feeling of a twisting movement.
DSDN 104 - Concepts with tessellate/twist
..Some tessellate concepts I've made..
This concept relates to my word movement. Next step is to learn how to fade forms and make it more fluid.

DSDN 104 - New concept
I like this form I created here. Still from the original form but now its almost like it has hair on top of the form or a spiky Mohawk or even a fence. I don't think ill continue with this idea because this form looks very harsh and not soft at all. I could try modify it to a softer form and try to make it bubbly or smoother to get a soft effect.

DSDN 104 - A nice solid fluid form I have created from original form.
I like this form mainly because of the fluidity of the form itself and the feathery feel it produces and the front has a good movement feel to it, almost like the top of the front is a cliff hanger. Those tacky bits at the bottom make a fading effect to me, like its melting into the ground and fading away. So far this is my most favorite model because of the attributes of the form.
Also here are two different forms where I have enhanced the modifying tool "shell" and now it almost looks like a spartan head from the front and a screwed up sea shell from the side view. (this is looking at it very abstractly).

DSDN 104 - Melt effect.
Here's a couple of melt effects on my form. These forms represent one of my words very well which is fading. Mainly because the are fading (melting) into the ground. It could also represent movement in a way how the form moves into the ground but it really doesn't show movement all to well. And also I guess it shows the feather feel a bit by the form melting into the ground.

DSDN 104 - Ripple effect.....
Here are some variations of ripple on my form...
I don't really like these variations of the ripple on my form and it also doesn't fit with my words I have chosen. Except the word 'movement' which could be easily scene in the variations below. These models almost act like a tsunami or a earthquake graph which represents movement well but and I guess it could represent fading a little.
Playing around with the wave lengths heights of the wave etc..

DSDN 104 - Twist effects
Here are two views on my form that has been twisted more and more and more...
I REALLY like the last twist model (the one on the right) mainly because of the circular twist it shows which is what I'm going for. It looks a bit sharp at the moment so maybe I could develop that twist into a much more softer form so it more or less represents a the feel of a feather. then maybe I could develop it into a fading motion by thinning down each side or just one side which would create the effect of fading. Also the twirls in the twist is a good representation of movement, almost like a spring.

DSDN 104 - Orignal testers
Here is my progress on soildworks so far! Here you can see the image im using and my process on the model.
Here is a new 3D model i've made! I like this because it has a nice flow to it!
Okay so here is my orignal form that I made in soildworks then imported to 3DS Max. Pretty simple form.
And......Here's the outcome after playing around with some effects in 3DS Max....
These here are just testers and seeing what each effect produced.

DSDN 112 - Inspiration/ this week
http://vimeo.com/6111739
This link here is from the lecture we had this week. I features multiple objects falling from a height and creating sound. I thought this was very inspiring to me because how you could create such a master piece with such simple objects.
Now.. this week we bought items that were fun to play with and one that was very functional. I bought a kush ball for the fun side and a lynx can for functional. I chose the kush ball for the playfulness of the object with its rubbery strings which feels good in your hands. Also when you hold the kush ball you want to bounce it up and down from a string or just throw it up and down, basically just play with it because it feels good. I bought the lynx can for functional aspect because you cant just spray it, you have to twist the top to use it. I thought this was a good functional object because you need to put human input in to get something out. Also its very convenient because you get to chose when to spray it instead of it accidentally spraying everywhere.
Our group had to put them in order from functional to playfulness and here is a photo of this process.

DSDN 112 - 5 Objects of the senses.
Here are 5 examples of the senses we have! Touch, Taste, Sound, Sight and Smell. I have bought these items into class to present and show there quality's that they hold. I especially like the kush ball because of the rubbery feel it gives and playfulness of the object. The peanuts I bought to class was for the taste sense. I thought it would be a good example because they are all peanuts but there are different types and texture to each one. I bought rubber bands because of the sound they make when you stretch them and also was inspired by those headphones we saw in the lecture. I also bought deodorant for the smell. I bought it for the unique smell it produced. And for the last sense sight, I bought an illusion which when you look at it it seems like all the circles are actually turning.
