DSDN 112 - New 200 words

My project is all about sight and taste, which also has the other senses mildly involved. The idea of my project is to create a drink that can be convinced to be something else, to deceive the user, so I have made a drink that looks like paint water but tastes amazing and unique. Since the drink looked like paint water I decided to follow the paint idea all the way through and created a scene that would fit with the drink. My presentation is going to contain a canvas with a painting on it inspired by ‘Jackson Pollock’, a jar containing paint water and paint brushes also with shots in a paint pallet that contains my actual drink. I’ve noticed with a few tests in my class that people smell the drink before they taste it so I’m going to ‘scent’ the jar with paint, so when they smell it the users will get a reaction that it’s actually paint water but then when they try the shots, they will taste amazing. I’m hoping the reaction will be a shock factor or just a really surprised reaction. If someone even try’s this mysterious drink.

DSDN 104 - Sliced onto one page (head to toe)

DSDN 104 - Starting project two

My chosen form was my hero image:
And starting to turn it into 2D:

DSDN 112 - painted paint pallet.

I've decided to paint the paint pallet just because it goes more with the project and also its a paint pallet!! It's suppose to have paint on it!

DSDN 112 - Final setup!

And so here is the Final result for my project!
I'm thinking of painting the paint pallet but well see.

DSDN 112 - Canvas - My Jackson pollock painting!

My artist model for my canvas was Jackson Pollock! This canvas will be at the back of my presentation to give that effect I have been recently painting. (My drink looks like paint water).

DSDN 112 - DRINKS?

Here is my drink and the paint water will go into the jar next to my presentation, then I'll fill the shots up with the real drink. I'm doing this to get a shock factor out of my experiment. Looks can be deceiving!

DSDN 112 - Presentation Setup..

okay... my setup is here but I'll probably rearrange it on the day. Obviously there will be shot glasses in the pallet with my drink in it, the canvas will be be painted and also the brushes wont be in there packets....

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

DSDN 112 - Next step.. Painting!

My next step is to paint on the canvas. The canvas will stand next to the paint pallet and then they will think I've just recently been painting and dipped my brushes into the "drink" (which will be the actual paint water, in the shot glasses in the paint pallet will be the real drink).

DSDN 112 - NEW IDEA!! Development

Here is my development process and the tools I used :)

DSDN 104 - Project two start. Precedents .....

We've got told to look for precendent images for our second project and I've chosen these...
I've chosen these as my precedent images because they have good layering techniques and I also like the style of each one. The layering and colours look key in these images. I really like the first image because of the images fading into the background. I would say its my main precedent at the moment.

DSDN 112 - New idea last minute?

My new idea is since my drink looks like paint water, I was thinking of changing the idea to this:

http://f1.ehive.com/3471/1/mhrah3_m9l_l.jpg
but add holes to it to put my shot glasses in it. Then put a canvas next to the drink to make it look like I've been painting and maybe put some brushes into the main jug where the drink would be.

Here is where the shot glasses will go.....

DSDN 112 - Prep time

Here is me preparing my frozen spiders/flies.
These will get put into my drink and maybe in each shot glass

DSDN 112 - Drying Moss :p

The moss will be apart of my project to make it more disgusting and it could potentially be the base of my project to sit everything on top. Else the moss will be stuck to the sides of the main drink and the shot glasses.

DSDN 112 - Plan for presentation and items I'm using.

DSDN 104 - Final decision on 'HERO'

I have chosen this image as my final hero image!
I've chosen this because it represents my three words very well. 'Fade' is shown by the shadow in the background fading into emptiness. Also my form fades from front to back from the lighting. 'Feather' is shown by my form with the playfulness and explosiveness of the curves that this form contains. I was focusing on the shape of a feather and how to create soft forms that look explosive, I thought I achieved this well with this form. 'Movement' is shown well with my form because of the form it self showing a lot of movement within it. It seems to have a lot of straight movement and it almost looks like it's exploding from the middle.
