DSDN 112 - Written explanation (200 words)

I am focusing on mainly sight and taste in this project but also the smell sense will be included within my project. I plan to make a drink that looks so disgusting that you won’t want to try it at all but when you taste it, it will be amazing and leave you wanting for more. I’ve noticed that a lot of people smell the drink before tasting it so maybe I could incorporate a really good smell with my drink so it encourages them to give it a go. I would do this because I’m trying to make the drink look as disgusting as possible. I plan to do this with food colouring, preferably black food colouring which makes the drink look like paint water. Then the presentation is going to be the most crucial part of my project. I’m thinking of buying dry ice and put it under my drink to give it a “WOW” effect, then I’m going to cover the glass that I’m presenting my drink in with red icing so it almost looks like blood, then surround it with shot glasses for the tasters. It’s almost like a gothic theme to my drink. Also I was thinking of putting fake spiders in or around the drink just to make it even more unappealing. I’m aiming for a shock/ tasty reaction within the people who try it and try make them come back for more!
