Some assembly ideas are using thread :

I'm still not sure on the color of thread but I plan to drill / laser cut holes into each piece then thread them together. This will also create movement in the form which was one of my words to start off with.

Another idea is using a block of wood:

What I plan to do with this is cut out a shape on the side of the block and then I can hold it in the block so my model stands up right. I could also paint the wood as if it was fading into the darkness. Lighting will help me with this effect.

Another idea is a 'C' shape wood:
This isnt wood but heres just to show the idea. Then in the middle of this 'C' I could hang my model from it.
